About PokerStars

PokerStars is an instantly recognisable name to anyone with more than a passing interest in the game. It’s the largest online poker site of them all in terms of player numbers and has produced, via its satellite tournaments, five of the World Series of Poker champions to date.

This site is great for experienced players and newbies alike as every variety of game can be found here in fixed, pot or no limit formats & any buy-in level.

The Israeli owners of Pokerstars have played a canny game regarding locating their company. It started life in 2001 licensed in Costa Rica but subsequently moved to The Isle of Man. The lure of zero tax on winnings and the removal on the Island of restrictions stopping US citizens from playing. The site consequently overtook Party Poker in size to become the world’s largest online poker room in 2006 when the US stopped issuing licences in the wake of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act passed that year.

Pokerstars have recently purchased Full Till Poker, why not check out that review also?
